Filament is what a 3D printer prints with: a plastic thread that melts in the print head and is built up layer by layer into a finished object. Here you will find Creality Hyper PLA 3D printer filament – 1 kg spools, 1.75 mm diameter, in black, white, grey, blue, orange, brown and red. The series is made for high-speed printing, with an even thread diameter for smooth, accurate prints even at high speed.
Filament types: what suits what
| Material | Strengths | Good for | Enclosed chamber needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| PLA | Easy to print, little smell, sharp detail | Toys, models, decorations, prototypes | No |
| PETG | Strong, slightly flexible, water resistant | Functional parts, mounts, home and garden items | No |
| ABS / ASA | Heat resistant; ASA also UV resistant | Car and outdoor parts, electronics enclosures | Yes |
| TPU | Flexible like rubber | Covers, seals, straps | No |
How to choose filament
- Diameter. It must match the printer. Most home printers, including every Creality printer, use 1.75 mm filament.
- Material. PLA for beginners and most projects; PETG, ABS or ASA for parts that face load, water or heat.
- Colour and amount. A 1 kg spool is enough for dozens to hundreds of small objects. A printer with the CFS system can load several colours and print one multi-coloured object.
- Storage. Filament absorbs moisture from the air, and wet filament prints worse. Keep spools in a sealed bag with desiccant, or in a CFS unit with its moisture-sealed compartment.

FAQ
Which filament is best for beginners?
PLA. It prints at a low temperature, needs no enclosed chamber, hardly warps and suits most home and school projects.
Does Creality filament fit other printers?
Yes. A 1.75 mm spool fits any FDM printer that uses filament of that diameter, not only Creality printers.
How many objects does one spool make?
A keychain weighs a few grams and a palm-sized model a few dozen grams, so a 1 kg spool makes dozens to hundreds of small objects, or a few large models.
How should filament be stored?
In a dry place, in a sealed bag with desiccant. Damp filament causes stringing and rough surfaces; drying it in a filament dryer brings back good print quality.
